What is the difference between the Unitree G1 and R1?

Size, arms, sensing, runtime and price. The G1 is the research-grade platform at AED 89,999; the R1 is the compact event and content robot at AED 34,999.

Is the Unitree R1 worth buying in the UAE?

For events, content and classrooms it is the only humanoid under AED 40,000 in stock. For carrying, navigating or programming, it is not the robot.

Can I program the Unitree R1 or G1 I buy in Dubai?

Not the base retail models. The R1 EDU and G1 EDU add a development kit.

Which lasts longer on a charge, G1 or R1?

The numbers tell the story in one line each. Arms: the G1 reaches around objects, the R1 reaches in front of them. Sensing: the G1 navigates a room, the R1 needs a person watching. Runtime: the G1 works a morning, the R1 works an hour and then charges. Price: the R1 costs less than half.

Which jobs does the R1 fit in the Emirates?

Events and stands, where a robot that walks in, waves, dances and answers questions in several languages is the whole job. Content, where a light, acrobatic robot that fits in a car boot and can be lifted by one person is worth more than LiDAR. Classrooms and STEM programmes, where the price lets a school own two. Showrooms and cafés that want a talking greeter for a season. Every one of those is a job where the robot is seen for minutes, supervised, and charged between appearances, and that is exactly what the R1 is.

The limits are equally clear: it cannot carry anything meaningful, it cannot navigate a crowd on its own, and the base model cannot be programmed. If your plan includes any of those three, the R1 is the wrong robot however good the price.

Which jobs does the G1 fit in the Emirates?

Research and development, where the EDU tier and the LiDAR are the point; Dubai Future Labs chose a G1 for its public deployment at the Museum of the Future for that reason. Businesses that want a humanoid to move through a space with people in it, rather than stand in one spot. Event companies that need two hours of walking rather than one. Anyone who expects to add manipulation later, because the dexterous-hand and EDU options exist on the G1 platform and not on the R1.

Its limits: it is still a 2 kg-per-arm machine, it still needs a handler at any public event, and its full price with a development kit is a multiple of the base sticker. What does each one cost to run in the UAE?

The same lines, different proportions. Both need a second battery for a working day, the R1 more urgently. Both need a case; the R1's fits in a hatchback, the G1's is a two-person lift. Both need an operator at every public appearance. Both are indoor machines for the Gulf summer. The G1's spares cost more and its EDU tier makes programming a five-figure decision; the R1's low price makes a second unit the natural spare. How do you decide?

Write the first job in one sentence. If it is "stand, greet, wave, film, talk", the R1 does it and the saved AED 55,000 buys a second R1, a year of transport and a lot of event bookings. If it includes "walk through a crowd", "carry", "navigate" or "program", only the G1 does it, and the price difference is the cost of those verbs.
