How much does a humanoid robot cost in Dubai, in dirhams?
A humanoid robot costs between AED 34,999 and AED 92,000 at UAE dealers in 2026. The Unitree R1 is AED 34,999 (about $9,500) and the Unitree G1 is AED 89,999 (about $24,500) at E-CITY from local stock; Ednex Automation lists the G1 at AED 92,000. Importing the same robots yourself is cheaper on paper, roughly AED 21,000 for an R1 and AED 57,000 for a G1 after shipping, 5 percent duty and 5 percent VAT, but without local warranty or stock. Everything above the G1, from Unitree's own H1 at around AED 330,000 to the enterprise robots, is sold by quote. Plan on 1.5 times the sticker for a working first year. | Robot | UAE dealer price (AED) | Maker's own price (USD, AED equivalent) | Gap |

What does it cost to import a humanoid robot instead?
Take the G1. The maker's price is $13,500, AED 49,600 at the pegged rate. Add air freight from China, comparable to the $300 to $1,200 Unitree charges to the United States, call it AED 1,000 to 4,400. Customs duty in the UAE is 5 percent of the landed (CIF) value, roughly AED 2,600, and VAT is 5 percent on top, roughly AED 2,800. That lands a self-imported G1 at about AED 56,000 to 59,000, an estimate that assumes nothing goes wrong with a lithium-battery shipment and that you or your company handle the clearance. The R1 works out around AED 20,500 to 22,500 on the same arithmetic.
So the UAE retail price is roughly AED 31,000 to 34,000 above landed cost for a G1 and about AED 13,000 above for an R1. In exchange: the robot within days, an official UAE warranty serviced locally, a showroom, instalments through a UAE bank, and no customs paperwork or battery-shipping risk. We compared the listed prices of the three UAE sellers against the maker's store in early September 2026 and the premium was consistent across them, which suggests it reflects real cost of stock, warranty and support rather than one dealer's margin. What does a humanoid robot cost to own in the UAE for a year?
Plan for about 1.5 times the purchase price if the robot works rather than sits in a showroom. The lines behind that, in dirhams:
- Second battery. Runtime on the G1 is about two hours; a working day needs a swap. Unitree does not publish a UAE battery price; ask the dealer for a quote with the robot.
- Transport. A flight case for a 35 kg robot and a vehicle that fits it; Dubai to Abu Dhabi is a two-hour round trip.
- Operator time. A person stands beside the robot at every job in 2026. Even if that is you, count it.
- Repairs and spares. Falls happen; parts come from China through the dealer, with lead times in weeks.
- Insurance. Public liability for events, required by most Dubai venues.
- Air conditioning. A humanoid is an indoor machine in the Gulf for half the year; the operating-temperature question is in Can a humanoid robot handle Gulf heat and dust?.
Is it cheaper to rent a humanoid robot in Dubai?
For a single event, yes. Dubai's event-rental market is active and prices for a humanoid with an operator run per day; the published ranges and providers are in Can you rent a humanoid robot in Dubai, and what does it cost?. The crossover follows the same rule as everywhere: below roughly 100 working days a year, renting wins; above it, or if the robot will itself be rented out, buying wins. That second case is the subject of Can a humanoid robot pay for itself in Dubai?.
Will humanoid robots get cheaper in the UAE?
Yes, and the local price should follow the maker's. The G1 fell from $16,000 to $13,500 in eighteen months, Unitree targets up to 20,000 units in 2026, and the premium a UAE dealer charges is a roughly fixed dirham amount for stock and support, so a maker cut shows up as a dealer cut with a lag. The other direction to watch is competition: when a second brand reaches UAE shelves, the premium narrows. Both are exactly what the Gulf List exists to flag.
